Last winter, for about three months, Dish Network took Sportsouth off my package and added the Big Ten Network (I live in Alabama BTW, so what's up with that?). It was not good. Lots of sports no one wants to see anyway, along with some second rate football and basketball reruns. If the SEC were to go that route, i would hope they would learn from the Big Ten's mistakes and do a better job.

This is the SEC. How fair can you make the schedule? There are too many tough teams in the conference to do too much with it. Adams' idea isn't totally without merit, but an 11 game league schedule would be pretty lame. Of course, some teams in the conference don't play a single decent non-conference game like UT does every year, so that idea would probably be an upgrade for some teams, i.e. Auburn. If they had played someone outside the SEC, they would probably have a NC right now.

I'm only 31, so obviously I'm too young to remember Mr. Holloway as a player. I just watched that video clip NJVol posted--freaking awesome. As a resident of Alabama myself, I think it's sad that it took so long for this to happen for Condredge. It goes without saying if he'd played at Bama or Auburn, he would have been in two decades ago. There are some of the greatest names in sports already in their HOF, but there are also former Tide and Tiger players that don't have near the resume of Holloway.

I have to agree that this is a great story. As someone who fooled around in my younger years and didn't get my degree when i should have, i can relate. It's a little different when you get older and it's actually your money paying for the classes. You certainly are forced to take things more seriously.

I am also pleasantly surprised that some of the usual suspects haven't chimed in bashing Maurice for trying to get his act together.

I agree with dqnapier. Having talented kids come in from California and parts all over is great, but sometimes they don't understand what it means to line up against the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and so on.

yabadabadoo1026 - I'm not suggesting that they aren't a good team. One of the 2 or 3 best in the country, though? I doubt that, although there's no way with the hype they've gotten lately they won't start next year in the top 5. It reminds me of the mid 1990's, when we'd get thumped by the Gators early and then claim to be overlooked at the end of the season. You can call me a homer if you want. Hell, I would probably agree with that. I was under the impression this site was for UT fans, although you wouldn't always know it from reading the posts.

On Poll: Which returning player will have the biggest impact for the Vols in 2008?

This year's Georgia team may be the most overrated team I can remember in quite some time. They were never even in the game against Tennessee this year. How can a team that gets blown out like that AND gets beaten by a SC team that didn't even make it to a bowl be "arguably" best team in the country?

I think the shadow of Peyton Manning gets longer each year. There was only one Peyton, folks. The chances are very good that he will remain the best quarterback (if not player) to ever put on an orange jersey. Stop considering those QBs that don't live up to his standards failures.

What a message from Summit, though. If you think she will take s__t off people, you're crazy. Benching your star player in her "homecoming" game is hard core!
