mattlock, "sensible debate" is unfamiliar jargon in these parts.

faithfulvol, will UT football cease to exist when Coach Fulmer decides to step down?
He has been a fine and faithful representative of the program and school but no player or coach is bigger than the program or team.
About the story, I wonder if Mr. Minton and Ms. Rike are football or sports fans in general? Being among the common folk who bring in less than 7 figures annually, I feel their pain. However, whether they actually support athletics in general would be relevant in giving a better understanding of their respective views.

"we'll wait till he gets plowed to tell him."
I am half way there already Savage so I am taking that news pretty good. I always felt the Buzzard had a few weak points that an astute OC could figure out anyway. Small things like no defense in the middle of the field and FB's breaking off 20 yard runs consistently.
Sounds like you are racking up the frequent flyer miles, which is good. I am at the end of my rope and not really into recruiting at this point anyway. I've got a job interview with the Falcons next week as their chief towel boy and am keeping my fingers crossed. I can't handle Workin's verbal abuse and being called a dork and moron all the time.
Good call on using Saban's evaluation. The guy is a jerk but he knows D. Skip Worthen, we don't sign TN boys anymore. Can't wait to see pdhuff's reaction at signing a couple of DT's, hope he doesn't keel over.
Seriously, you and the rest of the peanut gallery have a good 4th. Don't feed the monkeys and be careful out there.

olozbal, may want to think Dish Network, they are an official "corporate champion" sponsor of UT Sports now. Not sure how that impacts as far as ESPN Gameplan etc. Whatever you do, stay away from the local cable IMO. I am out of state and the best the local cable could offer was the NHL package.

Just embrace the insanity CollierVol. I have honestly seen no point discussing Fulmer's salary as JP, Little Mike, and Thunder didn't seek my input anyway. I will say it was a little less than I expected, speculated a few months back that he would be in the 2.8 million range. I guess Sexton gave them the discount package with the extended warranty.

80 DT's Savage O? That's only half of what the Vols have already offered and been turned down in the last 3 years.
I nominate General_Watermelon for Strength and Conditioning Coach and Master of Ceremonies.

Thurmond Eppy, you're a righteous dude and remember:
The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It's a good non-specific symptom; I'm a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you that a good phony fever is a dead lock, but, uh... you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office. That's worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you're bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It's a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.

I'll have the easiest job with the new 2-9 Buzzard, no DE's to coach and we don't recruit defensive players anymore. Good job NavalOrange or should I say future SEC Commissioner Orange.

Chuck Norris doesn't need any watermelon.

SFOrange, "A strong University means a strong(er) sports program."
I agree with that statement but believe the opposite CAN be true as well. Everyone can crack wise on Joe Paterno and say he needs to go or whatever, but he is the leading example of how things should be done when it comes to big time athletics and their relationship to the academic side of things.
