Gee, having a bad morning GOP?!
I was merely saying thanks.

Thanks for the link, GerryOP.
Now who was represented there on Foxsports.com? Saban, Spurrier, Meyer, Fulmer, Miles ... pretty much the SEC's national championship club. And they all had nasty comments as their "voice mail" messages.
Look at Richt's. Nice guy. Nice comments. NO national championship.
And by the way, if you read the whole thing, most of those comments are apparently from the "left coast", so I'm not too worried 'bout what they have to say.
Thanks for putting into perspective what many of us need to remember: if you're a winner, others, quite often, will hate you for just that fact. And thanks for reminding us that Fulmer is in that elite club of SEC coaches who have accounted for 40% of all the BCS National Championships.

I for one certainly aspire to cerebral zen mastery that one such as yourself has clearly attained. Give us some more superior insight! I promise not to make fun of your little love note to LSU. Teach us!"
I'm not a teacher, and have neither the desire nor the patience to attempt to rescue someone such as yourself who has proven to be interested only in provoking and insulting others. I can understand that, though, and fully acknowledge your right to write what you wish to write on this thread.
I DO, though, enjoy reading the posts from those of you who try so earnestly to be so much more than they really are. For example, the first sentence of the quote that I included above seems to attempt to paint me as being pompous, while it actually shows that you really don't understand the relationship between "cerebral" and "Zen", two concepts that I never remotely referenced. You try to insult me, but in reality you show yourself to be ignorant. And of a topic I never even mentioned. How sad for you.
You asked that I "teach", so I guess my first lesson would be to let you know that Zen deals with the discovery of a person's own true nature and his or her inherent wisdom. Cerebral thought is an angle of thinking that has to do with the intellect rather than intuitive thinking. The two concepts are not entirely mutually exclusive, but in your attempt to scold me you merely showed yourself to be rather silly. But I would assume that, by this point in your life, you are consummately familiar with being shown to be silly.
None of this has anything, really, to do with Josh McNeil or UT football, but that is what happens to many of the threads in this site once the anti's start their sardonic commentary. Sorry for the digression, Vols fans. tn geoff asked me to "teach", and God knows he's shown himself to need more education.
If you "stay the course", geoff, you'll die an idiot.

Don't let it bother you, vol-in-lsu-land. To many of those living in Alpharetta, Dr. Seuss = Dr. Zhivago.
And I wonder if the fritter pounder can read at all.
Have you noticed the little lovefest once one of the anti's writes something one of the others thinks is funny. They start their little back-and-forth love notes, congratulating each other on how many YouTube URL's they can post. Now THAT is some good stuff down at the trailer park, I bet. That's what too much computer time does for some folks.

No, no, no, vol-in-lsu-land... it's ALL Fulmer's fault. FOOLmore (I feel I must appease the anti-Fulmer crowd) worked tirelessly, as Majors' assistant, to get Majors' hooked on the sauce (Fulmer mixed the booze with orange koolaid), act a fool on his postgame show, make enemies within the "inner circle", etc. It wasn't Johnny, it was Phil.
Then Fulmer put the mojo on Dickey by using his SuperDuper KrispyKreme Fritters, and once he gained total mind-control, had Dickey oust Majors.
You probably don't know this, but Fulmer is also responsible for Jimmy Carter's failed presidency, the Bhopal, India, chemical disaster, Chernobyl, AND the rise to popularity of Michael Bolton.

The "slow tortuous slide into mediocrity by our lofty standards", as some might call it, deserves a closer look.
Do we compare Fulmer's 1990's record with his 2000's record? OK, in the 90's his teams averaged 10 wins/season. In the 00's, his teams have averaged 9 wins/ season. Not as good, but mediocre? No.
In the 90's, Fulmer's teams played in two SECCG's and came home with two SEC titles and a NatChamp. In the 00's, Fulmer has taken his teams to 3 SECCG's and has lost all three. Obviously, a team and it's fans would prefer winning the championships. But is taking your team to your conference's championship game 43% of the time during a decade mediocre? Get real.
If anything, Fulmer is a victim of his early hyper-success. No, his teams of the new millenium haven't brought home a NatChamp or SEC championship. His 05 team had a losing record. But each season since then has shown improvement.
There is no "slide into mediocrity", and the loftiest standards this university's teams have EVER experienced have been under the tutelage of Bob Neyland and Phil Fulmer. You folks would do well to remember that.

Before your guys there at the so-called paper go online and change it, as of now the headline for this column reads : "Adams: SEC non-conference scheduled no joke".
Scheduled?!
Pathetic.

Good to see you have recovered from having been bitchslapped by the coach.
You didn't even get past the headline without misspelling a word. Should the football coach write another column demanding that you be fired for not fulfilling the duties of a real editor?
If Fulmer must endure your criticism as to his leadership, at least he can rest assured that his guest column provides strong evidence that he does a better job of writing than you would do at coaching!

I realize that my last post doesn't have much to do with Fulmer's letter, but I had to respond to a cocky Vandy fan. Why do these fans of other teams feel the need to come to a site called GoVolsXtra?
