Former players comments.....that is all Phil Fulmer and his family need to tune into. That is the facts not ignorant fan based opinions.

No one coach in this country has more invested or the best interest in mind for Tennessee Vols as much as Coach Phil Fulmer. This man is a TN Vol legend and it is sad that people are not going to allow this great man to go out in style. He deserves that. Fans look at the situation as "INSTANT GRATIFICATION" and Coach Fulmer is so exactly right in saying that. When you look at TN recruiting it is amazing. What does Knoxville TN have to offer??? TN VOLS FOOTBALL, LADY VOLS BASKETBALL, AND MENS VOLS BASKETBALL (3 YEARS ANYWAY). If I am a college recruit, I am going to California, I am going to Florida, etc, etc, etc, but TN has some of the best recruiting classes in history and why is that......ask the recruits......Phil Fulmer, Phil Fulmer, Phil Fulmer, Phil Fulmer. Fans like to say it is because of the fans, well I am sorry after this year how fans have treated our football team. TN will be lucky to not lose 4 and 5 star recruits because of FANS, not because of Fulmer. What kid wants to come to football program of fair weather fans that are going to boo the players!!!That is not my opinion, that is a fact. These former players like Peyton Manning, Tee Martin, Al Wilson, etc do not have to say how highly they think of Fulmer just to be saying it, they say it because it is a fact that Fulmer is one of the reasons they came to TN and a great man and a great coach!!!!! What is going to be is going to be, but it would be so nice if fans would put their big man pants on and stop being such jerks about a GOOD MAN AND A GOOD FOOTBALL COACH and let this ride out how it rides out.
GO VOLS, GO COACHES AND GO PHIL FULMER. Beat South Carolina!

Has nothing to do with money...that's not an issue. If you don't like the product..don't go, don't pay. They'll be plenty of fans to take your place. It's simple. you either like them or you don't....You can't like them when they win and not when they lose....that is exactly like Alabama fans were for years...bandwagons.. You, as a coach should hope for the same treatment towards your team..money is noty the issue...the issue is being a FAN. Period.

Tennessee fans are the worst in the country....Instead of Fulmer going...push the fans out. THis losing time is best thing for Tennessee Football in the fact you can see who the real fans are and who the bandwagons are.....It's very easy to see. Stay away...many of us (who actually like Tennesee regardless) wouldn't miss you. The players have already stated the same!

Some of these comments are just stupid.....Tennessee fans are proving to be just like Alabama fans...bandwagon...cry babies. The worst in college football. Period.

Stay positive Briscoe, media is so NEGATIVE......NEGATIVE....NEGATIVE!! Wouldn't you just love one shot to criticize and rip the media apart for awhile!!!

Wow, these kids really like the coaches.....kinda funny......Maybe there is something good about this staff. All the recruits seem to love them. Funny how the fans only like them at times?????? Go Vols!

Clawson did not lose Fulmer's job, fair weather volunteer fans lost Fulmer's job. To even make a statement that TN football is mediocre is absolutely ridiculous.
TN football may truly have been ready for coaching changes, but not the way all of this came down. You have a group of young men on this team that will forever remember how fans have treated them this year and how the coach they so greatly admire has been treated!!!! It is a sad day in TN, but it is philosophy of today's society....."who cares who gets hurt if it makes yourself feel better". I hope the people who wished for this day closely sat back and watched that press conference. No Phil haters are even near the ball park of loving TN Football as much as Philip Fulmer!!!! Phil Fulmer deserves much honor and dignity through the remainder of this year and so do the players!
