Congrats to all the student-athletes on the list.

The promising part is seeing several starters / key players from the football team on the list. The discouraging part is not seeing ANY of the starters / key players from men's basketball on the list. (I guess I shouldn't stress any - Brian Williams is there, and I really like him. I hope he doesn't get lost in all of the new talent coming in. He's very impressive for someone that has only played a couple of years.)

Kudos to Pat / women's basketball as usual, and to those in all the other sports.

Can't wait to see Ben in the Orange!

Workin - nobody cares what your schedule is. Did you really think you needed to let us know when you will be gone? If you don't come back, that will be OK.

The only reason I watch just about ANY pro sport is to see how former Vols do. If forced to make a choice and no Vols were on either team playing, I would probably watch WNBA over most other pro leagues. At least the players seem to enjoy playing and they are not whining about not being able to feed their families on several million dollars a year. (Of course it might take several million to feed all of T Henry's families! Sorry - couldn't resist.)
I'm amazed when people take the time to post about articles they proclaim not to care about. If you don't care about the WNBA or any other topic on the site, don't read it and don't post - in other words, just shut up! For me, any article about a current or former Vol is welcome.

Good post DaddyVol. I get frustrated at times like all fans, but if all of the armchair quarterbacks (me included) were capable of coaching I'm sure we would be out there making a couple million a year.
I continue to be amazed at those that think Fulmer is so bad. At the end of the day, we are generally ranked fairly high, make it to a good bowl game and fill the stadium. No we don't win a national championship (or even an SEC title) every year - if my math is right only one team each year can do either of those. But we are generally in the hunt for one or the other until the end of the year.
Fulmer generally turns things around and I am excited about the upcoming season. Some of these "fans" remind me of the idiotic Memphis State fans I used to have to live with, jumping on and off the bandwagon with each win or loss.

I agree 100% w/Colliervol. Unfortunately if this pays off (which no one will know for a couple more years - at least until the kids have played 2 or 3 years of hs ball) other coaches will feel like they have no choice but to offer early. I hope it doesn't get to that.

How can this be? Based on many of the posts on this site, going into his third year McNeil should be a much worse player because of bad coaching by now! Hope he wins this, and repeats next year.

By the way, our football record against Memphis State is 20-1 and womens basketball is 26-1. We appreciate you conceding that we have the better teams in these two sports. I guess the Tigers losing 63% of the games played in men's basketball just doesn't allow you to concede that one yet.

overrated - the name is appropriate to your team. You continue to post how Memphis State has always had the better program. I used to live in that rat hole and jumped at the chance to get out. I used to hear how great Memphis State was and how UT couldn't match up any time they played. And yet when I see the overall record as UT 12 wins, Memphis State 7 wins I just can't figure out your logic.

As a previous poster said, at the end of the day the Tiggers lost two games this year - one of those was to the Vols that you will have to live with forever! Keep bringing in these great players and we will continue to beat them with our mediocre ones!

Congratulations Coach. Best of luck in building the program (except against the Lady Vols!) and maybe we will see you back here on the bench as the next head coach of the Lady Vols - if you can wait that long for Pat to retire!

Last year they had an opportunity to meet the team and get autographs on a Saturday after the championship. I hope they do something like that this year so those of us out of town can attend. However with the draft today there could be five players missing, which wouldn't be good. (Sydney Spencer was not there last year, as she had to start practice right away with her new team.)
