I've evacuated Louisiana because it's freakin underwater. I'm in Tuscaloser, Alabama and they're freakin thrilled with Nick Satan. Life sucks......except we get to vote for the hottest VP Candidate EVER in two months!

Go Vols, but my backup plan is War Eagle (after September 27).

Buck Fama.

On Game film makes Fulmer madder

Hey guys, I was stuck in a hurricane. Did I miss anything? How did the game turn out?

Oh wait, a Fulmer coached team under-performed miserably on national, prime-time TV? Old news.....

On Crompton doesn't start practice

I have us at 10-2, but losing to Auburn, not GA, and still losing to Stevie Ballcoach at his place. We get a trip to the SEC title game due to our beating GA and FL and beat Auburn to go to the Sugar Bowl - assuming Hurricane Gustav doesn't blow all of us in Louisiana off the map this week.

On Hooker's predictions: Vols will go 10-2

War Eagle (except September 27)! Beat Bama!

On Auburn won't announce starting QB until kickoff

"ESPN will have rights to every SEC home football game not on the network package and all league matchups will be shown on some outlet, including at least 20 a year on ESPN or ESPN2. That includes two primetime Thursday night matchups and Saturday night games."

The way I read it, if you have ABC and all 49 ESPN networks, you'll never miss an SEC game? That is a GREAT deal for fans. Maybe this is why ole' Mikey Sliver couldn't get Brandon Warren eligible for months on end....

On SEC, ESPN sign 15-year deal worth more than $2B

sjt, I do think Auburn will be beat up after LSU, but I was in attendance in 2003 when we got smoked 28-21 in a game MUCH more lopsided than the score indicates. There is an underrated home field advantage on the Plains. If Auburn gets their QB situation straightened out, they will win a lot of games this year. Then again, Dave Clawson may provide Tennessee the needed spark to get the job done in some games we aren't expected to win. Here's hoping....

On Adams: Schedule reason for anxiety, not QB

John Ward is to Larry Munson as Regas is to Whataburger.

John Ward and Bill Anderson were the classiest play-by-play tandem ever to sit in a pressbox. They certainly favored Tennessee (as they should on the Vol network), but never so overtly as to turn off a non-partisan listener. Selfishly I wish he was back on the radio, but you can't top going out to the 1998 National Championship.

Give 'em six! Touchdown Tennessee!

On Ward knew 1998 Vols were special

*****DISCLAIMER*****

From January through July, I was pessimistic about this season, particularly so when we had to hire half of a coaching staff. Recruiting wasn't the Fulmer-standard top 10 class, and Jerod went pro early, but........it's August and the Kool-Aid is flowing here in central Louisiana. So.......

I actually have us beating UCLA, Florida, Georgia, and Bama in our toughest tests. I think we lose at Auburn (who is my pick to win the SEC Championship) and lose at USC (as a child of the 90's I can't imagine beating Stevie Wonder three in a row).

10-2 with another berth in the SEC Championship game with our best shot at a BCS bowl since 2004.

I don't know the optimist sitting at the keyboard here, but like I said, it's August and it's 8 days 'til FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!!!!

On Adams: Schedule reason for anxiety, not QB

Steve,

If you're the exec, fire John Adams - or at least transfer him to the Teen section......

On Ahillen: No need for an apology from Abbott

Glad to hear the line is still doing its thing. I think if they can give Crompton the kind of time Ainge got last year and Crompton doesn't get in a hurry, we're in great shape on that side of the ball.

On Gerald Williams misses practice again
