Hey!! What about Phil's Spurrieritis?? Clemson fans can stomach a lot of losses but not to Phil's nemisis who coaches the most hated team in Tiger Country!!! No way Clemson would consider taking him as it would purt near guarantee a loss to the Gamecocks each year.

What y'all have to consider is this. A kid who backs out and is as vocal as this one, probably isn't worth his weight in salt. A class act, and one who has talent that can be molded into that of greatness, is going to sit on the sideline and watch until the coach is named. Then, and only then, will that kid, his parents, HS coaches, and mentors make a final decision on the program. That goes for others who are willing to jump ship right now.

How much is the football program going to lose not going to a bowl?? How much has the program lost so far in ticket and concession sales? How much has the city of Knoxville lost in reduced visitors on game day? Just some thoughts here, folks. Not sure Hamilton is thinking straight on the revenue numbers. Recruiting? What kid in his right mind wants to put a possible pro career in jeopardy coming to a losing program? It will take two to three years to rebuild this program if the move were made today. Longer Hamilton waits, the further the program will spiral and the longer it will take to rebuild.

Man, what a prize bunch of journalists we have here!! I guess Pulitzer's are pending for all of you critics of John. I've read, then re-read, his columns and I find them very well written, and factual; both basketball and the Fulmer bit. BTW, Fulmer is a bit thin skinned, IMHO. Adams didn't call into question, as I see it, Philly's character. But, sometimes, Phil, the truth does sting a mite. Back to bassetball!!! My life!! Someone 'splain this coaching box position deal at Vandy????? If the home team can set up these retrictive conditions, which obviously they can, let's put the Vandy coach in the parking lot with a walky-talky next game. I know, a bit of over reaction. Refs were pitiful, for both teams. Until Bruce got into it with the ref, in the first half, the calls were all going against the Big Orange. After that, I noticed a bit more balance in the calls. Wonder what Bruce said to the ref???? Maybe we don't need to know. Let's win out...beat the Cats, get a high seed, win the NCAA. Hey, ya gotta believe!!!!!!

On Adams: Vols just ran out of comebacks this time

Hmmm, I read, then re-read Adams column and I don't see where CPF's character was attacked, assassinated, or impuned. Leadership, certainly, but what Adams presented were facts. I noted that several folks here want to take the reference to the NFL players out of context, but a rational view warrants a suggestion that had CPF metted out harsher discipline, perhaps his players would not have gone on to commit bigger offenses. Of course, in defense of CPF, even your own children present tremendous disappointments. Phil's skin is a bit thin because he knows there is a swell growing to have him canned, and it's MHO that CPF is having some sleepless nights in Blount County over whether he can deliver anymore. When you take on a public position, like the head coach of a major university football team, and are paid damn well for it, then you gotta take the heat, deliver, or get the hell out.
