What's all the commotion about???? Given that the last recruiting class was lousy at best, ole FOOLMORE should have PLENTY of salary cap space to keep this kid away from the BoSox!

Of course IF he wants to win championships he should definitely take whatever money is flowing from Beantown cause ain't nothin' but another PERFECT STORM blowing in Ktown!

On Kelly says he'll 'probably be wearing Red Sox uniform'

HEY TOUCHDOWN - You ask em, I'll answer em!

1. "how many points will we lose to our arch enemies this year?" MANY or LOTS - your choice!

2. "Who will embarrass us this year?" FLA, AUB, GA and BAMA for sure with another one thrown in to ensure it's a PERFECT storm!

3. "And after we do, how low will our recruiting class fall next season?" Well a ranking of 117 would be about the lowest I believe so does that answer it????

BIGORANGE - I notice you use the word IF rather than WHEN in referencing wins over the big boys - a little uncertainty there big fella????

As for hoops - well, can't we just skip that looming fall debacle and move right into TBA MADNESS!!???

Was there supposed to be some new insight or information in this article???

"...I'm not too sure I want to know all the particulars about how the teams I'm watching were assembled." Good thing Mike cause you obviously have no clue and restating bits of other writers old stories does not make you a journalist.

marc_a$$ - is your sudden "knowledge" similar to your previous projection of BWilliams as an "impact" player???? Nice call on that one too.

Maze may very well sign with TN but to come on here and state it as a fact like you actually know what's going on before he even visits is nothing more than a guess that you HOPE you can look good on. But hey, it's a habit with you so we should all expect it I guess.

newton - glad to see you out from under FOOLmer's desk finally.

marc_a$$ - why are you suddenly trying to play like you know anything going on??? That's pretty funny!!

TN definitely has the inside track simply because of all the relationship connections between the coaches and BP's style vs. Cincy/KY - but this guy already said no to us once so there isn't anything certain til the ink is dry.

I hope the best for these two but the fact is they were each given far more than reasonable opportunities and support to do the right thing - and they didn't. In this day and age there is absolutely NO REASON to fail a drug test other than pure stupidity or just not caring. If one choses not to take the correct path and just quit toking, there are still far too many ways to "appear" clean even when you're not. Academically, the fact is that, like so many others, neither had any preparation to be in a college classroom. That said, neither made much more than a cursory effort to use the opportunity given to them to ensure the rest of their lives would be as productive as possible. Both had nothing more than getting to the NBA in their heads - thoughts born from years of listening to those closest to them blow smoke up their a$$ - and again like so many others neither will ever see an NBA bench without buying a ticket. This is just another sad story of guys throwing away what may well be the best and perhaps ONLY real opportunity they'll ever have to change their lives. However, while it is sad, I have no sympathy for those that willingly reject that opportunity.

On Crews won't 'blame anyone but myself'

baba - a little more research on Maze? Where are all your facts about the guy? Oh, you've never seen him either? Guess that leaves you with Adams.

dan - Adams and journalist should never be used in the same sentence.

eb - SSDD. I guess you previously expended both of your "new" thoughts for the year?

Has anyone considered that getting booted at OK and having to spend a year out of the spotlight just may have allowed Maze to mature and understand it ain't all about him? Smith/Crews obviously DIDN'T do this in two years so perhaps we should first let things play out and see if Maze even becomes a Vol and then judge him on what he does after arriving in Knoxville. Of course that would be a very illogical approach wouldn't it.

On Adams: Vols have talent to make up for personnel losses

Had prior coaches and AD's not neglected to recognize the great ones that have played here - King, Grunfeld, Ellis, Houston, etc. - there would be no waiting list now to have the jerseys hung and numbers retired. As it is, there are a couple of guys in front of CLo at this time which will help to fill in the five years under the "rules." I like the 5 yr wait period as it allows for a players achievements to settle more into a historical perspective. The great ones are never forgotten and Chris' story and legend will only grow over time. What has been overlooked though is that he would have probably broken the NCAA record for 3's had he been at full strength the first half of the season. While never concerned with such things, that is something this kid truly deserved.

This is a prime example of why folks should be very careful with their criticism of college kids performances. You never know what might be going on in the life of any 18-22 year old that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. Yet everyday we see posts here going after players and their performance. I have been guilty at times myself even though I try to stay off the kids. Perhaps we should all learn something from this and make a pledge to clean up our comments regarding ALL college players. But I promise you there is news on the horizon that will have this board right back where it seems to always be.
