I saw Jurick play against my high school and could not believe Pearl was recruiting him. I hope he sees something--I sure didn't . I'm still excited about West and Hopson, though.

Thanks, Steve. I am just loathe to deny anyone the right to be called a Tennesseean. I'm dead serious. West Tennesse ain't Middle Tennessee and Middle Tennesse ain't East Tennessee, but It's ALL Tennessee. I guess I am just a big sap who hates to see folks from the Volunteer State not supportin' each other. I would hope that Memphians would pull for us (and, God, I hope someday they do!), but I know some would do just what some of us are doing. I don't get the point. Guess I'll go watch the game.

It's a free country, Steve. Thanks for the note. I am very grateful to be from Chattanooga, Tennessee, but I have come to appreciate what Memphis and the Delta culture are, and I am very glad that they are both a part of our incredibly diverse state. Come on, guys, we know that there are great Florida fans, Auburn fans, and even Georgia Bulldog fans--and classless fans from each as well--our Vols included. Memphis has been very good to me; I like the town; and I am very much for the Tigers.

By the way, Mud Island and downtown Memphis are beautiful and the people very hospitable (Rendevous ribs delicious). And thanks, once more, to the folks at St. Jude for saving my son's life.

When we play Memphis, I'm for the Vols. Any other time? GO TIGERS! What kind of classless idiots are not pulling for the team from Memphis, by God, Tennessee? Here's hoping the state of Tennessee holds both men's and women's championship trophies high. Go Tigers . . .
