Brimfield undergoes successful ankle surgery

Tennessee offensive tackle William Brimfield had successful surgery to correct an ankle injury suffered during spring practice, UT announced Friday. According to head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh, Brimfield will be limited during summer workouts and fall camp, but he should be available for UTs season opener at UCLA on Sept. 1. Full story »

Britton Colquitt’s hearing on charges relating to a February arrest have been postponed to June 25. The Tennessee junior punter is facing charges of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident after hitting a parked car and fleeing. LOS ANGELES — UCLA quarterbacks Pat Cowan and Ben Olson are hurt again after struggling through injuries last season.
Each had to be carted off the field at spring practice, Cowan with a left knee injury and Olson with a broken bone in his right foot. Both of Thursday’s injuries were flukes — neither occurred because of contact.

Crompton's surgery successful

Tennessee quarterback Jonathan Crompton underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to remove loose bodies in his throwing elbow Monday in North Carolina. Crompton, who threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday's Orange and White Game, is expected to fully recover from Monday's minor procedure in about four to six weeks, his doctor said.
