LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie said Saturday that guard Derrick Jasper will probably transfer, with an announcement expected as early as next week.
Gillispie said the details haven’t been finalized, though Jasper said recently that he was homesick for his native California.
Jasper averaged 4.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 20 games as a sophomore last year for the Wildcats after recovering from knee surgery.
The Wildcats will also lose center Morakinyo Williams, who played in just five games as a freshman. Williams asked Gillispie to release him from his scholarship. Gillispie said Williams is hoping to transfer to a program that will provide him with more playing time.

It's all over for Kentucky. They're just another team in the SEC. I actually feel a little sad for them. OK, I got over it.

marinevol, If you think it's over for them, then you will most likely be getting a rude awakening. Kentucky has some major talent coming in along with a healthy Jodie Meeks and that basketball freak Patterson. I sure would not feel sad for them....we better tighten up or they will give us all we want and more.
On top of this, we also have a very good Florida team to deal with.

Not really big losses. Jasper wias okay, but there are a million like him. Meeks and Patterson will give other teams a lot of problems, as we should know first-hand.
UF and UK are going to be tough again, and In fact I look for most of the SEC to improve.
Us? Well, I'm thinking we take some lumps. Chirs and Jajuan took a lot of heat off the inside. They also were double-digit scorers and good rebounders.
It will be fun to see how CBP approaches this group. I'm pretty certain he'd like to get out of the 'streak' offense mode and be mrre reliable.

ImAllVol, it appears that you have taken on a mission to stalk this site for my posts, and respond to each one with some condescending lecture about how little I know about the particular subject. Although I do find this mildly annoying, I certainly recognize that you have every right to engage in such activity. I just wonder why you don't get a life or something. Did you get washed out of the Marines at one time, and are now using me as an opportunity to vent your frustrations?
