Ten teams and two individuals not on advancing teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 28-31 on the Kampen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Vols placed fifth in last year's regional at Sugar Grove, Ill. It was the Vols' third top-five regional finish under coach Jim Kelson and the first time since 2005 they qualified for the NCAAs.
Men's Track: The 12th-ranked Vols will play host to the Smoky Mountain Twilight at 4:30 today at Tom Black Track.
It is UT's final regular-season meet before the SEC outdoor championships.
"This meet features a compact schedule," head coach Bill Webb said. "It is a home meet nine days before the conference meet so it is a chance for people to have a final tune-up before the SEC outdoor championships. It is probably going to be the first good weather day of the season and we are looking forward to that. There are different guys that have different needs during this meet. We have people chasing marks for regionals as well as the U.S. Juniors."
