Marci Turner, who was a senior on Tennessee’s women’s golf team this past spring, won the Tennessee Women’s Open on Wednesday, shooting a three-day total of 4-over-par 220 after a final-round 79 at The Bear Trace at Cumberland Mountain in Crossville.
Turner, who won $7,000, beat Sara Grantham of Wilsonville, Ala., Lee Ann Walker-Cooper of Southport, N.C., Walailak Satarak of Bellflower, Calif., and Kim Williams of Sorrento, Fla., by one shot.
Mississippi State golfer Erika Thornton, a 2006 Class AAA state champion at Farragut, tied for 13th at 229. Middle Tennessee State’s Mallory Bishop of Bearden tied for 15th at 230, followed by Jessica Tarbet of Gibbs (T35, 238) and Peyton Ritchie of CAK (T38, 239).

I believe the winning score posted at 11:55 PM and which I am viewing at 12:15 AM is incorrect. If par is 72, 4-over par would be 220, not 200 as stated in the article.
