Kellie Jolly Harper has another game at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Harper, the point guard on three national championship teams at Tennessee, will coach Western Carolina on Nov. 25 against the Lady Vols, the school announced on its Web site.
“Having a chance to play in Knoxville is a real treat for our players,” Harper said in the release. “Tennessee is the best atmosphere to play a women’s basketball game and our players deserve to experience that.”
This will be the second meeting between Harper and Summitt. UT and Western Carolina played in the first round of the 2005 NCAA tournament when Harper was a first-year coach at Western Carolina.
Tennessee also will play at Chattanooga on Nov. 21, where Harper was an assistant coach before going to Western Carolina.
Other non-conference games on UT’s schedule include a top TV date: a Feb. 2 game against Oklahoma in Oklahoma City that will be part of ESPN’s Big Monday coverage.
The Lady Vols will host Stanford on Dec. 21.

I checked with Lady Vols sports information and they said it would be in the next couple of weeks. They are waiting for the SEC to release the schedule.

Oh you know Kellie will have her team primed and ready to steal this one in TBA. Wouldn't that be a feather in Kellie's coaching cap? I haven't done my homework to see what her Lineup looks like, who's returning, all that, but WC was no slouch last season.

98reax,
From what I saw, Kelly has lots of seniors and freshmen. I guess her team will be very experienced, very young, or somewhere in between. Regardless, Pat and the Lady Vols will be ready for them. GO LADY VOLS!

Lest you forget, each year, Kellie get burned by Wes Moore's Chattanooga Lady Mocs (where she was a former assistant coach) in the Southern Conference. Only once have they gotten past them and those same Lady Mocs have a annual loss against Pat's girls. Do you really think WCU can give her a harder game than they.....Kellie or no Kellie?

Ok, so, I've been fortunate enough to have witnessed PLENTY of drummings on the Lady Mocs from Summitt's squad, being an alum of UTC myself. I'm a Vol at heart, and I even though I'd LOVE to see an upset for the sake of our (IMHO) SEVERELY UNDERRATED Lady Mocs, I have to agree with slsmithsr on this one. Coach Harper can't get past the Lady Mocs (consistently) and, that's after having coached with them for ~3 years or so. Not only that, her husband, Jon Harper (an acquaintence of mine--he played QB on my flag football team) has an excellent basketball mind himself, and they still can't get past Coach Moore. So, my point is, how is Coach Harper ever gonna get past Coach Summitt if she can't even beat Coach Moore?

My only question is...when are we going to bring Kellie home by having her join the LV staff?
