Sykes isn't ready to announce his decision. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive end will do so at Alcoa High School on Wednesday, National Signing Day, at 1 p.m.
"I'll be glad on Wednesday, when 1:05 comes around," said Sykes, who is considering Tennessee and Florida State.
The evaluation portion of Sykes' decision came to an end upon conclusion of his official visit to UT's campus this weekend.
"It went good," Sykes said. "I've been to UT so many times, there's nothing that stood out."
Sykes seems to be having some fun with the attention. All smiles during a taping of The Locker Room television show, Sykes was performing Florida State's tomahawk chop before the show, then extolling the virtues of the Vols minutes later.
Sykes was hosted on his UT visit by offensive lineman Vladimir Richard.
No Doubt: Rolando Melancon said he enjoyed his official visit to Alabama but the Tuscaloosa trip did nothing to change his mind. The 6-1, 260-pound defensive tackle from Lutcher (La.) High School committed to UT in December.
"No doubt," Melancon said, when asked if he would sign with UT on Wednesday.
Ahmad's Announcement: Ahmad Paige is scheduled to announce his decision today. The 6-3, 175-pound receiver from Sterlington (La.) High School took an official visit to Southern Cal this weekend. He also is considering Florida and UT.
